Feels so weird not being able to just pop into Eternal whenever I feel like it. I have to faff now in order to visit! Thankfully, I know I'm not missing anything :-)
Well...the end of an era. I've now left House Eternal. The guys know why, and I hope they won't say anything yet *frowns at Rat*...but all will be well.
OK people. All this crap being thrown about being downrated* by a certain group is very easily solved.
Stop caring what you're rated! It's a website for gods' sake! The most anyone can do if a 'hit' is put on you is rate you a 1, and if you don't care about a piddly number, then there is no threat!
By the way, this post is not aimed at anyone in particular. It's just my observation based on a number of comments I've seen here and there.
*term used purely because, as Razr said, it's the one that people recognise as meaning being rated a 1.
I'm so happy! Cancer has implemented my suggestion of allowing textareas! For anyone who doesn't know the code, here it is (using the new textarea feature of course!)
after the text you wish to be surrounded.
Apologies to whoever commented on this entry while I was editing it!
So, you think changing your name will erase all the low rates? It won't. You're doing all those people a favour; they now get the satisfaction of rating you low AGAIN :-)
Change your attitude, not your name, if you want better rates.
Hmm...when you're ACM of a coven where the 'rules' are things like 'respecting fellow VR members' and 'No Drama', isn't it slightly hypocritical to go around encouraging your fellow coven members to disrespect other VR members and cause drama?
Just an observation :-D
Woo...I have the 64th most read journal on VR :-)
The things you end up looking at when you're bored...
*Incredulous* In the forum at the moment is this little gem -
Oh dear...I guess you didn't like my little comment!
Never mind, it's posted elsewhere for posterity :-D
I've just been reading through some of my old journal entries, and I've found no less than 2 ideas of mine which have since been incorporated into the Dark Network:
March 2008, I mentioned it would be cool if forum posts stopped counting towards levels (to decrease forum spam). Lo and behold; they no longer count.
September 2008, I thought it would be cool if there was an RSS feed for journals. Lo and behold, there are journal RSS feeds available on Bloody Feather.
Now I'm not suggesting Cancer has read my journal and taken these ideas on board. I just think it's cool that I commented about them, and now they've happened :-)
In another note, I can't believe how hung up I used to be about ratings! Seems like most of my early posts were banging on about 'revenge raters'. I'm so glad I don't give a crap about that stuff anymore. I mean yeah, they still bug me, but not to the extent they used to, and certainly not to the point where I journal about them. Far as I'm concerned now, revenge raters can please themselves and FOD :-)
Heehee, just noticed that when you hover over the profile links for messaging or adding a member to your friends list, the words 'sunshine' and 'moonlight' respectively appear in the URL...
No idea why, but it made me smile :-)
Thanks to Ravenstrigoi for being the 1000th person to rate me :-)
Yes..I'm sad for recording this...but I don't care! *razz*
